Natural Ways To Tighten Enlarged Pores

Our skin sweats due to tiny holes on its surface called pores. These are responsible for eliminating excess sebum from our skin. They are like breathing organs for our skin. If the pores are clogged, it leads to acne.

Open pores look extremely unsightly on our face. They are also more prone acne and breakouts. Open pores also make you look older. Although we cannot make our pores disappear, we can shrink them to make them less prominent.

Below are some simple home remedies to get rid of enlarged pores easily at home.

1) Tomatoes

Tomatoes contain astringent properties. It clears the pores of dirt and shrinks them.

-Tomato puree

1) Rub the tomato puree on your face and massage gently.
2) Leave on for an hour.
3) Wash off with warm water. But the last rinse has to be with cold water.
4) Do this for 10-15 days to achieve results.

2) Baking Soda

Baking soda is very effective to remove dirt from clogged pores and eliminate dead skin cells.

-2 tablespoon baking soda
-1 tablespoon water

1) Make a paste using baking soda and water in a bowl.
2) Apply onto the face and leave on for 15-20 minutes.
3) Wash off with cold water.

3) Buttermilk

It is an effective remedy to shrink enlarged pores at home.

-3 tablespoon buttermilk
-1/2 teaspoon salt

1) Mix the butter milk and salt.
2) Apply onto the face with a brush and let it sit on for 10-15 minutes.
3) Wash off with cold water

4) Brown Sugar

Exfoliating the skin will magically reduce enlarged pores. Scrubbing will get rid of dead skin and shrink pores. Brown sugar scrub is excellent for this purpose.

-2 tablespoon of brown sugar
-1 tablespoon olive oil

1) Mix both the ingredients in a bowl.
2) Use this scrub on the face and massage in circular motion for 5 minutes.
3) Wash off with cold water.

5) Rose Water And Cucumber Juice

Cucumber works as an astringent. Rose water helps balance the pH level of your face and has some anti-bacterial properties. This combination works great to shrink pores.

-3 tablespoons rose water
-3 tablespoons cucumber juice

1) Mix both the ingredients in a bowl.
2) Apply onto the face and let it dry for 15 minutes.
3) Wash off with cold water.

6) Orange Peel

This is another astringent which works great to reduce large pores on the face naturally.

- Dried orange peel of 1 orange
-2 tablespoon rose water

1) Grind the dry orange peel into a fine powder.
2) Mix the powder with rose water to make a paste.
3) Apply it onto the face and let it dry for 15-20 minutes.
4) Wash off with cold water.

7) Sandalwood And Turmeric Powder

Sandalwood is a great cooling agent which acts even better than ice to shrink pores. Turmeric powder is a great anti-bacterial which will eliminate dirt and bacteria.

-1 tablespoon sandalwood powder
-1 teaspoon turmeric powder
-1 tablespoon rose water

1) Mix the sandalwood and turmeric powder.
2) Make a paste of it with the rose water.
3) Apply this pack onto the face and let it dry for 15-20 minutes.
4) Rinse with cold water.
