One of the most unwanted and threatening skin diseases, freckles, is becoming very common, especially amongst today's youth. Freckles occur when the skin is overexposed to the sun. As today's men and women spend so much time outside their homes, the skin is automatically exposed to harsh sunrays, making freckles a common concern.
The initial symptoms of having freckles start with red or yellow spots being formed. Later, the colour changes to dark brown and eventually, freckles become prominent. Many assume that freckles only appear on the face, but in reality, freckles can appear anywhere on the exposed skin.
However, if treated from the initial stages, freckles can actually be cured completely. Treating freckles can, in fact, start at home on an everyday basis; this will surely bring about a change to the presence of freckles on the skin.
Do not expect freckles to fade away in a day. You have to be patient with the listed set of home remedies to treat your freckles. Try them and continue using them on the affected areas for a while, to see an effective change.
Scrub, moisturize, nourish and tone the freckle-prone areas with the following and you will surely see them fading away.
Home Remedy For Freckles I: Lime And Sugar Scrub
With only two ingredients - lime and sugar - make a scrub for your freckled skin. Simply cut the lime in half, sprinkle sugar at the middle and rub it on your skin.
If the sugar melts away, you can recoat the lime with sugar. Please note, you have to use granulated sugar. Do not scrub your skin for a very long time, as it may start reacting or burning extensively.
Home Remedy For Freckles II: Sour Milk Or Curd Cleanser
It is important to keep the freckled skin clean. Soap alone cannot serve this purpose. Instead of using mass-marketed, chemically composed soaps, try going for natural cleansers.
You can cleanse the freckles on your skin using sour milk and curd. In a day, do this twice, before taking a bath and at night, before going to bed. This will not let germs attack the freckles, and it will alsokeep the area fresh and clean.
Home Remedy For Freckles III: Honey Mask
The freckles of your skin will dry out; however, it is on you to keep the area moist and hydrated. To keep the freckled skin hydrated, you can use honey. Do not use raw honey on the skin directly, as it can be sticky and messy.
Instead, prepare a mask of lukewarm honey with wheat germ. Apply this mask on the skin for 10 minutes and then wash with cold water. The honey mask should not be used every day. You can do this up to three times in a month.
Home Remedy For Freckles IV: Shea Butter Night Cream
At night, your freckles need to be pampered the most. The last thing you apply on your freckles at night stays and reacts all night long. So, you should try and use something soothing like shea butter.
If you know any shea butter cream, that would work fine too. Massage the shea butter or the cream on the freckled area and go to sleep. Ensure, before applying the shea butter, that you cleanse the area well and pat it dry. Do not apply the shea butter on anunwashed skin.
Home Remedy For Freckles V: Oil Massage
Not all oils should be used on freckles. The one oil that can be used that usually does not react harshly is almond oil. Take almond oil on your fingertips and massage the freckled area.
If you see that this is giving your skin a comforting feel, you should continue using the almond oil. Almond oil can be massaged into the freckles and left all night long. In case you do not prefer keeping oil on your skin, rinse off the area after 30 minutes of applying the almond oil.
Home Remedy For Freckles VI: Freckles Pack
So what pack to apply on your freckles? Here is the answer. You can apply a pack of molasses sugar, curd, essential oil, chamomile tea and almond oil.
Mix 1 tbsp of chamomile tea with 1/4th tablespoon of each of the other ingredients. Apply the pack on the freckles, let it dry and then wash it off with cold water.
Home Remedy For Freckles VII: Vegetable Pack
Occasionally, for extra care of your freckles, use this vegetable pack that requires three ingredients - cucumber, strawberry and tomato. Take one slice of each of the vegetables and grind it.
Mix the three vegetables together into a smoothie and apply it on the skin. This may take little extra time to dry, after which wash it off with cold water. You can use this vegetable pack on your freckles along with the other home remedies up to two-three times in a month.
