The ingredients you will use to prepare the body polishing scrub include besan, masoor atta, chandan powder, haldi powder and milk.

Let's now look at the role of each of the body scrub ingredients on your skin:

Raw Honey Or Rose Water
Whether you want to go for raw honey or rose water, this depends on your skin type. Honey is recommended for those who have an oily skin, as it takes off the excess oil present on the skin and treats acne and skin breakouts. Rose water is suggested for those with dry skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder
  • Quarter teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons of gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon of red lentil powder
  • 1/2 a cup of raw honey or rose water
  • 1 glass bowl

Method:

  1. Take the glass bowl and ensure it's dry.
  2. Add besan, masoor atta, chandan powder and turmeric powder, one after the other, and mix the dry powders together.
  3. When well combined, mix this with raw honey or rose water. Do not over-pour raw honey or rose water. The scrubber should be thick and not very drippy in nature.
  4. Once the body scrub is ready, use a brush and apply it all over your body. Ensure that the body scrub is thick enough to stick to your skin and is not flowing out.
  5. After applying the scrubber, the wait time is - 20 minutes.

In case you feel after twenty minutes that the scrub is yet to completely dry, wait for some more time. When the scrub is completely dry, wash it off using cold water.

Step 2: Using A Body Mask

Preparing a body mask requires the right amount of ingredients in the right proportion. An extra of any of the ingredients will neither overwork nor under-perform on your skin. The body mask powder can be prepared at home and stored in an airtight container for 2-3 months. It can be applied on both the face and body.

Check out the body mask recipe here with the benefits of each ingredient listed.

Masoor Dal/Red Lentil
The use of masoor dal on the skin is old school. Hence, using it as a part of the body mask is reliable. However, one has to consider the paste or powder form of masoor dal before applying it on the skin.
