How Often Should You Scrub Your Face In A Week?
Too much of a good thing can be bad and it absolutely holds true in case of scrubbing!
How often should you scrub your face? A question that has passed through our mind, way too many times, with no possible answers.
We love exfoliating. It instantly perks up our skin, removes dead skin layers, cleanses impurities from pores and gives the skin that irresistible glow!
But, what about the times when it leaves our skin excessively dry and inflamed even. Let's understand the dynamics of how skin scrub actually works and the difference it makes to our skin!
Dead skin cells shed at the rate of 50,000 cells per minute. And the times it does not shed properly, it clogs the pores, leading to breakouts and dull skin.
This is where scrub can come in handy; but if you use it every day, it will have a reverse effect. It will slow down your skin cell turnover, causing you to age faster!
Scrubbing every day strips the skin of its natural oils, leaving it vulnerable and damaged. Overtime, causing skin to become thinner, which in turn causes wrinkle.
How Often Should You Scrub Your Face?
Know your skin type. If you have oily skin, exfoliate not more than twice a week. If you have combination to dry skin, you can use scrub twice. Never be aggressive on the skin and immediately after scrubbing, apply an intense moisturiser.
Can You Scrub Your Body Every Day?
No. Though your body skin tends to be thicker and more resilient than facial skin, the dynamics work the same. Every day scrubbing will leave it dry, cracked and inflamed. Scrub it once a week, and use ingredients that work the best for your skin type.
What Is The Right Way To Scrub Skin?
Splatter water onto your face. Smear your face with a thin coat of a gritty scrub. Scrub using a soft pad of your fingers in a circular motion. Do this for 2 to 5 minutes. Avoid the area around your eyes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water. Follow it up by rinsing with cold water to close the pores. Pat dry gently and apply a nourishing moisturiser.
Should We Double Cleanse A Hand-Held Device?
If you use any hand device or a loofah, make sure to double cleanse it. To keep the germs and bacteria from spreading onto your facial skin again, this is an essential step you must follow!
Is There An Easy DIY Scrub Recipe?
Take 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, mix it with half a tablespoon of olive oil. Mix it until you get a gritty paste. Add 5 drops of almond oil. This scrub will slough off dead skin layers, without leaving your skin dry.
How To Soothe Sensitive Skin After Scrubbing It?
Sensitive skin can easily get inflamed after scrubbing it and to soothe the skin, try this simple solution. Extract cucumber juice and place it in the refrigerator to cool for 10 minutes. Using a cotton pad, gently dab it into your skin. Let it get absorbed fully. High water and antioxidant content of cucumber will soothe your skin and alleviate any redness.
