Make-up For Dark Complexion
Rabindranath Tagore had his own words of praise for the black complexion people especially women. The fair women always inspired him, but he did not neglect the black complexioned people. He stated " Shey je jotoi kalo hok dekhechi tar kalo horin chokh". This means that however dark she might be, her black and dark eyes bright as a deer. This justifies the fact that women who are dark can also look exquisitely beautiful if they have good skin and wonderful features. Today being dark, according to me is a boon; people prefer dark complexioned women and all the super models are dark. But the only thing that is to be borne in the mind is that she should have a good make up and a healthy skin.

A dark skin is more resilient than fair skins. Due to more pigment, it can withstand exposure to the sun much better. It is basically hardier. It is always a repetition that any skin, which is healthy and clear, can look beautiful. With a flawless and healthy skin, the dark skinned girl can replace the Indian fascination for "fair" skin with the idea that "brown is beautiful".

Here are some of the important tips for the make-up of the dark skinned women.

Foundation for dark woman

A good foundation is the key to clever make-up for a dark complexioned woman. By 'foundation', it refers to the base of your make-up. This includes concealer, foundation, and powder. When you're decorating a room, you don't just slap the new paint onto the old without first scraping off the unwanted wallpaper, and cleaning down the paintwork. You need a good base from which to apply the colors that you have chosen - and this goes for make-up, too.

Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin, then apply the concealer, foundation, and the powder to create a smooth base - you can then apply choose a suitable colour for a blush followed by eye make up and lipstick to complete the task.

Understand the coloring of your skin tone:

Light
If you have an ivory or porcelain complexion, then your skin tone is Light.

Light-Medium
If you have a rose beige, light olive, or ash brown complexion, then your skin tone is Light-Medium.

Medium-Dark
If you have a yellow-beige, medium olive or rose-brown skin, then your skin tone is Medium-Dark.

Dark
If you have a dark olive, bronze, rich beige or black complexion, then your skin tone is Dark.

Summer / Winter-Dark Skin
You have cool skin tones, with a pink or blue undertone, and make-up that echoes these tones will make you look healthy and alive. Avoid honey-based cosmetics that could make you look yellow and extremely unwell!
