The length of the entire hair can look great and healthy, but somehow the ends of our hair turn into weak strands that very closely resemble straws, or even a broom. Now, no one wants that. Unhealthy hair can also look very unsightly.
There are lots of quick fixes to dry and damaged ends, like using excessive amounts of serum. But sometimes, no matter how much serum is used, it just doesn't seem to help. The dry ends seem to go back to their dry selves after a few hours.
There are many reasons as to why the ends, specifically are victims to such situations. Most often, the natural oils from the scalp do not reach the ends at all, even if the hair has been unwashed for three days.
So, the scalp may be extremely oily and the ends may end up being super dry. The damage caused by heat styling also impacts the ends a lot more because they are so dry already. The oils from the scalp shield the hair at the top of the head from too much heat damage.
So wouldn't we all like a somewhat permanent solution to dry and damaged ends? And that too without spending bucket loads of money? Believe it or not, most of the solutions to your hair problems can be found easily because you'd already be owning these things. And the best part is that the solutions are so cost effective. So keep reading to find out how to get rid of dry ends once and for all.
Banana (the riper, the better)
Method And Application
Mash an entire banana, and more if needed, in your blender. Make sure there are no banana chunks left and the entire thing is smooth, else you could end up with banana chunks in your hair for days. Mix a few teaspoons of coconut oil into this paste.
Apply the mixture to the entire length of your hair, focusing a lot on the ends. Wrap your hair into a bun, and put on a shower cap so that none of the mixture drips everywhere. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes, and then wash and condition it as you usually would.
Bananas are a rich source of potassium, which helps strengthen dry and damaged hair without weighing it down. And of course, not much needs to be said about the amazing benefits of coconut oil on the hair. It not only smells great, but is the most absorbent kind of oil that provides moisture to the hair.
