The fact is that the ingredient to be discussed is probably there in your kitchen and that is sesame oil.
Sesame oil is a staple cooking oil in many Indian households and is known for its many health benefits, when consumed. It is also used in Ayurveda as a base oil in many massage techniques. However, the use of sesame oil as a beauty enhancer is not known to many people. Get a hold of this oil just once and you will never let it go.

As A Natural Sunscreen

It is time to stop your search for the chemical-based sunscreen that suits your skin best. Do not think twice and settle on using sesame oil, which has the property of forming a thin film on the body that can block UV rays to a good extent.

The presence of vitamin E in sesame oil acts as an antioxidant, thus, preventing damage due to the sun and free radicals. It is suggested to massage the face, neck and other exposed areas using a few drops of sesame oil before venturing out. It must be done properly to avoid dirt build up.

Ditch your day and night creams and lotions and try sesame oil; it can give you soft and supple skin. In addition to vitamin E, the oil also contains stearic acid, linoleic acid and palmitic acid which are good for the skin. The best way to use it is to apply it before going to bed, but it must be done on a daily basis to get the desired result. One can be put-off with the strong smell of sesame oil. For this, add almond oil or carrot oil along with it.

Cleanse Your skin

Sesame oil acts as a great cleanser when combined with apple cider vinegar. The oil magnets the toxins in the skin and moisturises while the vinegar balances the pH. Take equal parts of both ingredients and sufficient water so that you can massage it with your fingertips. Wait for a couple of minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Helps Exfoliate

Exfoliate with sesame oil for a change about 2 to 3 times a week. Here is the mix - 2 tbsps powdered brown sugar, 2 tsps sesame oil and 10 -15 drops of eucalyptus oil. Combine to a paste and use it anywhere on your face and body. Wait for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off. Follow-up with a moisturiser. Make sure that you don't go out in the sun after using this scrub as it tends to make your skin sensitive.

Fights Acne And Minimises Wrinkles

Acne is a nightmare to everyone, be it the young or the old. Most products available in the market are said to aggravate the problem. So, the most simple and safest way to cure acne is to use sesame oil. It has antibacterial properties that fights acne very effectively. Simply wash your face with warm water and apply the oil to cure acne.

Another way is to mix it with turmeric to form a paste, let it sit for 15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Loss of moisture in the skin leads to wrinkles and ultimately to aging. Sesame oil can make the skin look younger with the help of the antioxidant sesamol. It rejuvenates the skin and reduces fine lines.

Removes Eye Make-up

Using a cotton ball, dab some oil around your eyes to remove the mascara and other eye make-up you might have used. It not only cleans up everything well but also adds a glow to your eyes. This is the better option compared to using all those chemical-infused products for your delicate eyes.

Use It As A Conditioner

This is a good idea that will give you healthy-looking, smooth and shiny hair. Massage some of the warm sesame oil onto the scalp and hair before your bath. Shampoo your hair as usual and you will definitely not reach out for your conditioner after that. It also has added benefits; for example, it repairs dry scalp, prevents early graying, prevents split ends and many more to mention.

Heals Cracked Heels

The feet are to be cared for too, same as that of the face and body. Cracked heels are not a pleasant sight and it can be treated with sesame oil. Apply some on the affected area before bedtime and wear socks to prevent stains. Do not wash it off and all the oil will be absorbed into the skin to give you beautiful looking feet. This has to be done for a couple of days to get good results.
