Vajrasana: Thunderbolt Pose

Vajrasana or the thunderbolt pose is one of the meditative poses.

Step 1: Sit on the floor with legs stretched in front of you. Bend your right knee and place the foot under the right hip.

Step 2: Bend your leg knee and place the foot under the let hip.

Step 3: Sit on both the heels. The toes should touch each other and the heels can either be joined together or turned outward making a 'V".

Step 4: Keeping your back straight and palms on the knees, breathe normally.

Benefits:

  • Hastens the digestion of food. Best if practiced soon after food.
  • Increases flexibility of the ankle joints
  • Improves the overall posture of the body
  • Beneficial for reproductive organs

    Precautions:
    Those suffering from Arthritis should not practise this
    Those with knee and spine injury should not practise this
