Thirukural-On Choice Of Right Time-Kural 483

Thirukural 483
Aruvinai enba ulavo karuviyan
Kalam arindhu ceyin

Nothing is impossible if an enterprise is started,
With right means at the appropriate time

Rajaji has converted this Kural into an effective interrogation as follows:

“Is there anything impossible if the right means are adopted and the right hour chosen?"

In this verse, in addition to the right time, Thiruvalluvar has emphasised the adoption of the right means and instruments for the efficient execution of the job on hand.

The following is a relevant and well-known quotation from Shakespeare:

“There is a tide in the affairs of men,
which, taken at the flood, leads on the fortune." (Shakespeare, Macbeth)

On the choice of right time

Thiruvalluvar in Thirukural emphasises on the choice of right time and opportunity, especially by an administrative to attain success.
