The dawn of Jan 12, 1863 saw the birth of a world mover, Swami Vivekananda. It is a known fact that the Swami wrapped the age old Vedantic wisdom in a modern covering, for the youth of all ages to get inspired and thereby imbibe them. The Swami has surpassed succession in His mission, that even years after Him dropping His mortal coil, His teachings are endeared and followed by all.
The inherent vibrant quality in Swami's teachings and His dynamic personality is what presents Him as the perennial source of inspiration to seekers. Spirituality assumed a new meaning in Swami's teachings. It was no more a subject for the grave. It was no more a subject that shun materialism, for the Swami dreamt of a materialistically prosperous country, powered by spirituality. Spirituality assumed a new tone altogether.
The throbbing life in the tone of His teachings, is the element that keeps drawing people from multifarious backgrounds, from peasant to a priest, lay men to the intellectual, the spiritual to non-spiritual etc.
