7 Chakras And Their Influence On The Endocrine System

Did you know that there are 7 chakras that act as a bridge between the body and the endocrine system? We must understand that there is a profound relationship between the 7 chakras and the endocrine system. The 7 chakras also influence the endocrine system. Let's read on.

Science has existed ever since the time humans first set foot on this earth. A product of human observation and thought, its relevance to spirituality and the consciousness has never been more pronounced than it is today, particularly noting the prodigious advancement made by science in understanding the universe and the spirit.

Both advanced biology and science have agreed upon one basic principle - matter hasn't given rise to the consciousness. It is the other way round. The consciousness gives rise to matter, matter being nothing but the physical manifestation of the consciousness. The current theory on the Higgs Boson or god particle spells out the method by which matter takes form, validating that matter is the physical manifestation of consciousness or in other words, energy.

Spirituality speaks of the consciousness being eternal, its physical manifestation changing from time to time. This is the perfect explanation to the question why we humans take different forms. What must be understood is that all of us humans share something - the 7 chakras as described in Sanskrit. This common element is nothing but the manifestation of the universal consciousness.

This article speaks of the 7 chakras and the endocrine system. As mentioned earlier, a rather thought provoking fact is that the endocrine system is a seven-gland system. This by itself evinces the close relationship between the 7 chakras and the endocrine system.

The 7 chakras are nothing but the bridge between the universal consciousness and our body. They control our mental and physical behaviour and reactions towards situations in life. Described below are the 7 chakras and how they influence the endocrine system.

Crown chakra (Sahasrara): pineal gland, divine awareness.
Third eye chakra (Ajna): between eyebrows, gland- pituitary gland, intuition.
Throat chakra (Vishuddhi): present in the throat area, gland - thyroid gland, communication and expression.
Heart chakra (Anahata): present in the heart area, gland - thymus, compassion and love
Solar plexus chakra (Manipura): present in the navel area, gland - pancreas, self-esteem and courage.
Sacral chakra (Swadhisthana): present in the genital area, galnd - ovaries, creativity and sensuality.
Root chakra (Muladhara): present in the spine base, gland - gonads, survival.

Energy flow between the chakras is continuous, thereby allowing the body to remain healthy. But when there is a disruption due to the alteration of our individual consciousness, the subtle energy flow is disrupted, thereby causing imbalances, physically or mentally. By focussing on each of these chakras, it is believed that the body's operation will be perfectly normal and there would exist perfect balance in its overall functioning.
