Kashi Vishwanath Temple Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh: Kashi Vishwanath Temple or Kashi Vishwanath Mandir is one of the most renowned temples of Lord Shiva, situated in the holy city of Varanasi, in the Eastern part of Uttar Pradesh state of India. Kashi Vishwanath Temple is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas Shrines of Lord Shiva.

Kedarnath Temple of Shiva, Uttarakhand: Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest among the four Char Dham temples in Uttarakhand, is situated amidst the scenic beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand. Located near the Mandakini River, Kedarnath Temple is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Amarnath Cave Temple, Jammu Kashmir: Amarnath Temple is a highly revered Cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva situated around 141 km from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The main Amarnath Cave temple is the abode of Lord Shiva who is formed naturally of an ice- stalagmite. This Lingam is believed to grow and disappear with phases of the moon.

Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple, Gujarat: Somnath Temple or Somnath Jyotirlinga temple is situated in the Prabhas Kshetra near Veraval in Saurashtra, on the shores of the Arabian Sea in Gujarat in India. The temple is dedicated to Someshwara, another name of Lord Shiva, with moon on his head and is first among the twelve Jyotirlinga Temples in India.

Lingaraj Temple, Orissa: Lingaraj Temple is one of the oldest temples of Bhubaneswar, in Orissa. This thousand years old temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lingaraj Temple is the largest temple of the highly revered Hindu pilgrimage center famous as "the city of temples" or "Temple City of India".

Murudeshwar Shiva Temple, Karnataka: Murudeshwar Temple or Murudeshwara Shiva Temple is famous Lord Shiva temple, located in the beach town of Murudeshwar. Murudeshwar means Lord Shiva or Eeshwara and the statue of Lord Shiva here is one among the World's tallest Shiva Statues.

Mallikarjuna Temple, Andhra Pradesh: Mallikarjuna is the name of Shiva in the town of Sri Sailam near the town of Kurnool in the state of Andhra Pradesh in South India. The temple is rich in carvings and architectural wealth. Adi Shankara is supposed to have composed his great poem called "Shivananda Lahari" at this temple.

Mahakala Temple, Madhya Pradesh: Mahakaleshwar is situated in Madhya Pradesh in the ancient and historic town of Ujjain or Avanti. It is situated on the river Kshipra which is one of the four places in which the Kumbha Mela takes place.

Kedarnath Temple, Himalayas: Kedarnatha is the northernmost of the jyotirlingas and nestles in the snow clad Himalayas. It is snow bound for six months of the year and opens only from May to October.
