Prejudiced Mind-Mulla Nasruddin-Osho Story
Mulla Nasruddin was listening to the first case when he was once chosen as a honorary magistrate.
As soon as he listened to one side of the case, he said to the court, “Within five minutes I will get back with the judgement"
However, the court clerk whispered urgently into his ears, “How can you do that? You haven't listened to the other side"
Mulla said, “Now, don't confuse me. I am now clear with the verdict that I am about to declare. If I listen to the other side, I am bound to get confused!"
Osho points out that Sufi stories involving Mulla Nasruddin are not just to be read, laughed and forgotten. They are packed with thought and a discerning eye is not bound to miss the essence of it.
In this story, Osho points out the way a prejudiced mind functions. It simply sticks on to its own conviction. A prejudiced mind is incapable of looking at the truth in its naturalness without the colouring of its conviction.
