Perfect Action In Total Awareness

Awareness, present moment
Being in the present moment is being aware.

A short story of a tradesman who worked at his spindle reveals the aforesaid truth.

The tradesman in a small village worked at his spindle perfectly. He sat on his knees in his small shop, pulling a strand of wool from the bale above his head with his left hand. He twirled the wool to make it thicker and stronger and transferred it to his right hand as it passed in front of his body. He then wound the wool with his right hand around a huge spindle. This was a continuous process and each time the process was completed the man said “La illaha illa llaha" The man maintained the rhythm of the process so accurately that there was no interruption in his work due to mistakes.

The old man while performing his work was totally in the present moment. He was in total awareness. He then passed on his work culture to his descendents who carried out the work in the same manner.

In total awareness with no regards to doership, perfection in action follows spontaneously.
