Are You Marrying An ATM?

What is an ATM? It basically stands for ‘Automated Teller Machine' but it we also call it conventionally as 'Any Time Money'. It is machine that disperses cash at your beck and call, provided you have enough in your account. However, some women treat their husbands as their ATMs. Marrying an ATM means that you are getting into a marriage for money.

We mean no disrespect to independent women who marry for love. But the fact remains that many women are marrying an ATM to fulfil all their needs. If it is your personal choice to enter a marriage for money, then so be it. But you must be prepared for certain realities if you make this choice.

Money

Here are some things to remember if you are marrying an ATM.

It will be mechanical

What is an ATM if not a machine? So if you are marrying an ATM, your relationship will be mechanical. Your husband will pay your credit card bills just as mechanically he earns money. Don't expect human emotions from him.

Nothing lasts forever

If you are getting into a marriage for money, then you are actually faking love. And you cannot go on faking emotions forever. Someday or the other, your husband will know you have duped him. And the then, there will be hell to pay.

Self Respect

We are in the age of feminism now. We talk about things like the corporate glass ceiling, equal pay for equal work and women's rights. If you live like a parasite on your husband's money, how will you have any self respect? How will you stand up to your other women friends who are all working hard to make a living?

No Companionship

Marriage is a relationship built on sharing experiences and feelings. Only when a married couple goes through tough times together, their love is tested and their bond grows stronger. If you are marrying an ATM, the shared experiences will be missing in your life. You will just be staying with your husband to utilize him.

No Security

If you concentrate on making your husband pay your credit card bills and do not concentrate on a career on your own, ten years later you will be insecure. You will have no vocation of your own. If your husband divorces you, where will you stand?

These were the disadvantages of marrying an ATM. There are many good reasons to marry and money is not one of them.
