1. Now you are officially his housekeeper.
It doesn't matter what it is about the house, you are responsible for it from the moment that ring slips on to your finger. Be it cleaning the bathroom or paying the milkman, it is all up to you.

2. Now your money is her money but her money is not your money.
Life after marriage is full of paradoxes. The first and the most important one is that she will have full access to your wallet and bank accounts but you cannot expect the same.

3. Your parents are your parents but his parents are your family.
Difficult to accept but true. Your husband won't treat your parents like his family but you will be expected to treat his as your own. If you don't then you will be termed 'nonadjustable' and 'home-breaker'.

4. As far as she is concerned you will always be 'mama's boy' even if you are motherless.
Most marriage problems arise from the fact that your wife suspects you love your mother more than her. Anything remotely related to your mother will be treated with acute suspicion and if you object you are mama's boy.

5. He doesn't know or care that you use the bathrooms too.
Soggy floor, water on the rim of the toilet pot, cigarette ash are only few of the things that you will see in your bathroom.

6. She needs her space but you can't have yours.
She will go to get friend's wedding, her cousin's bachelor's party and her college reunion. During these special occasions you will be expected to find a suitable source of distraction. But if you start hanging out with friend twice in a month, then you don't love her anymore.

7. He will not take your money but he will crib about spending his.
Men are usually too proud to take money from their wives but pride never made them any richer. He will volunteer to pay for the expensive dinner, vacation, clubbing, etc, but constantly crib about how much he has spent later.

8. You are expected to be interested in household work but all the decisions are made by her.
You will be expected to accompany her on her trips to the furniture store or shopping mall as part of married life duties but your opinion on any of these purchases is not welcome.
