How Can Old Couples Keep Romance Alive

Here are some simple yet subtle ways in which old couples can keep the romance alive in their marriage and stir up the passion again.

A romantic atmosphere: The most important part of rejuvenating your romance is create the right ambience. This doesn't have to be something grand or lavish. A few subtle touches can create the magic. Cook a sumptuous dinner for your partner and serve it in style with some nice champagne. To make it even more romantic have some fragrant flowers in the room and soft music playing along.

Look charming: You cannot expect to ignite the spark again by wearing sloppy clothes, no makeup or with unkempt hair. It is very important to look good. When you look good, you feel much better about yourself and your partner also finds it flattering that you took so much trouble to impress him/her.

Appreciate: Stop nagging over trivial issues. Make your partner feel appreciated. Compliment each other. Old age does not mean that you have to take each other for granted. When you appreciate your partner, he/she feels that you are still responsive to him/her.

Keep the conversation on: You have to be aware of the likes and preferences of your spouse. Communicate with each other frankly about what are your needs or wants. Most couples lead an unhappy old age because they do not communicate their wants to each other.

Be flirty: Don't go by common misconceptions that being flirty at an older age is unimportant. Playfulness is always healthy in any relationship. Laugh out loud and have fun with your partner.

Go out on a long holiday: Spend time with your spouse. Plan a trip somewhere with your spouse where you both can spend some quality time together without anyone's disturbance. Go out for walks on the beach holding each other's hand and reliving your old memories.

So, don't think you are too old to keep the romance going. Don't stop yourself from expressing. Make your old age a blessing for yourself as well as your spouse. Old couple romance can be much more exciting than you can think it is.
