Sending Toddler To Daycare: Tips

For The First Day:

1. Pack the toddler's bag with some nice food that he/she loves. Organise everything before time to avoid last minute panic.
2. Make sure you keep his/her favourite one-two toys so that he/she feels familiar.
3. Do not feel anxious and even if you are feeling, do not show it. Your toddler might pick this up and feel unsettled.
4. Arrive at the daycare earlier. This way you will get some more time to make your toddler settle in the new place.
5. On the first day at child care, help your toddler find out some fun activities which keeps him/her comfortable.
6. When the toddler is happily enjoying the new place and the games present there, plan your exit. Say goodbye and inform that you will come in sometime.

After First Day:

1. Sometimes send your partner or other family member to drop the toddler off to child care. This will prevent the child from feeling more upset on your exit. A change will keep the young mind diverted.
2. Experiment with the dishes and pack some delicious and good looking daycare lunch dishes.
3. Keep an update from the concerned person and observe carefully.
4. Talk to your toddler after picking him/her. This will help make your child become interactive. This exercise will also help the toddler show interest in daycare the next day.
5. Take some chocolates when you pick him/her up. You can even use it as a trick to divert the toddler's mind before leaving so that he/she doesn't cry.
