Ways To Discipline Your Toddler

For many mothers disciplining the toddler is one of the toughest jobs when it comes to parenting. This is a never ending process and the disciplining process has become one of the toughest jobs in these days. Many do not know the meaning of disciplining the toddler and they spank or punish the toddler and think that they are giving the perfect discipline to them. They also set certain rules and expect the toddler to follow the same rules so that they will get some discipline with it.

In fact these may not be done in order to become good boss, there are many ways to discipline your toddler and here are some of the ways on how to discipline your toddler. Try these, as they may be helpful for you in disciplining your child.

Try these, as they may be helpful for you in disciplining your child. a) Say no to NO: If a parent or caretaker says No to everything the toddler will get used to it and tuned to that they will never understand the priority. For this instead one can explain the toddler why they should not do and problems that come after doing so that they will think and then act. b) Know their triggers: Everyone has their own trigger so know them and act. They will not be in discipline if they are hungry, sleepy or overtired. So, know them and act accordingly and give them what they need. c) Stay consistent: React to all the situations in the same manner so that your child will act according to that. They may get confused and mess up if you are not consistent and act differently each time to the situation. d) Don’t be emotional: It is hard to stay calm but make your senses calm and do not get emotional and scream at them to the situations. Being emotional will not slow down but incline the situation and even they may mess up or cry. Count three in that situation and after that look at your child’s eyes and react. e) Short and sweet: Explain the situation in a short way so that the child will understand it better. Do not explain them in a lengthy manner as they do not have patience to listen to those. So, use short and sweet sentences for them. f) Time out: This is an important thing and need to be done when the toddler need discipline. They may fear and stop the mess they are making if they hear about the time out. This should be done once so that they will know what is it and will not try to be in a time out again. g) Be positive: No matter how indiscipline they are, they do not repeatedly tell about them in front of others as they will not reduce but increase their behavior. So, try to be positive and discipline your toddler in a positive way. If they listen you telling to other people about their negative behavior they may end up in repeating the same behavior.
