6 Things To Avoid When Pregnant At 8 Months
Once you enter the third trimester of pregnancy, you will start noticing changes in yourself. The baby bump will become obvious and your motherly instincts will come to the fore. You are already six months into your pregnancy and now the final stage is approaching.
Having taken good care of yourself, you have reached this far. Now, it is only a matter of a couple of months more before your baby will be in your arms. Your doctor must have told you about many things to avoid during pregnancy. Stick to the doctor's words and take every step with care.
You must remember that when pregnant, you are not only responsible for your wellness but more importantly for the healthy growth of the foetus. Every move you make will have an effect on the baby and this not only includes physical factors but psychological ones too.
Post six months pregnancy tips suggest more frequent visits to the gynecologist. This is to ensure that all is going normal and the baby is healthy and kicking, and doing somersaults also. Along with these visits, you also need to take extra care of yourself.
Diet: There is nothing extraordinary about a pregnancy diet. Stick to fresh, home-cooked food. Try to avoid having any leftovers from the fridge. A diet rich in protein, calcium and iron is important for the good health of the mother and the baby. A healthy mother will be able to give birth to a healthy baby. Stay away from pre-cooked and packaged stuff. You do not want to consume anything loaded with preservatives and additives.
Spicy food: Spices are good but within limits. Avoid extremely spicy food as it may cause gastrointestinal problems. Not only will you feel uneasy and unwell, but it will also be harmful for the growing baby. This does not mean that you start having boiled food but keep the spices to the minimum to enhance the taste of the food. Also, avoid packaged spice mixes as they contain artificial flavourings.
Long journeys: When you are well into your eight month of pregnancy, you can expect the baby to come anytime. Labour indications start gradually and give you enough time to reach the hospital. In order to avoid any kind of unwanted situation, avoid long journeys. Besides, long journeys are one of the things to avoid during pregnancy in the later stages as it will be tiring for you.
Long hours of sitting: Whether you are at home or office, avoid sitting for long hours at a stretch. Sitting for long hours can be painful for your back and also cause pressure on your abdomen. Remember when eight months pregnant, maximum part of your abdomen is occupied by the baby. Get up at intervals and take slight walk. Your baby will love it too.
Disturbing situations: As far as possible, try to stay away from disturbing situation, be it at home, office or anywhere else. Even though the baby is still in the womb, disturbances can stir him or her. Everything you hear, say and see is communicated to the baby. Also avoid disturbing media content.
Stress: Stress can be of many kinds, both physical and mental. To have a healthy baby, avoid all means of stress. Or make every effort to be as happy as possible. Your emotions are relayed to the baby and as you feel, so will the baby.
Pregnancy is a special stage in a woman’s life. It is a time when you find yourself wholly and solely responsible for a living being which is growing within you. Your doctor, friends and family will tell you about many things to avoid during pregnancy. Pay heed to them but also make sure to include one thing to the fullest – happiness in life.
