Five Reasons Why Pregnant Women Cry

When you are pregnant, you sometimes feel a terrible urge to just cry out loud or yell at someone. Pregnant women cry a lot and often for no reason at all. It is difficult to explain why pregnant women cry so much but let us give it a try.

Sometimes, you find yourself in a perfectly normal situation like not having the change to pay the cab driver and you want to really cry your lungs out. Pregnant women cry at these seemingly irrelevant situations because of a combination of pregnancy hormones and physical discomfort.

Here are some reasons why pregnant women cry so much.

Fatigue
Pregnant women rarely get good sleep. And because of that they are tired most of the time during their first and third trimester. Hence, they are prone to cry at the drop of a hat. Physical fatigue makes them mentally blank.

Physical Discomfort
Nausea and morning sickness are not very ‘happy' feelings. To top it up, there is constipation, backaches and headaches to make things worse. That is enough reasons to make any normal person cry. So why blame only pregnant women.

Hormones
Hormones have a big role in making you impulsive. When you were not pregnant, you probably had a solid control over your tear glands. But your pregnancy hormones loosen up your voluntary control over every muscle in your body. So be it your tears or farts, you cannot control anything.

Insecurity
Pregnant women often go through a phase of insecurity. They are gaining weight and that makes them insecure about their looks. They are not able to work at the same pace as before, so they become insecure about their jobs. So, the insecurity can make pregnant women cry once in a while.

Fear
When you are pregnant, you have certain unnatural fears associated with hormones. It is also natural to be scared of miscarriages or labour pain or having a normal baby. The list of fears is just unending.

It is said that crying affects the pregnant women and their babies. So being happy during your pregnancy is very important. But it is obviously easier said than done. So here is a tip that comes straight from the horse's mouth; cry when you want to and don't be judgmental about yourself.
