When You Are Six Months Pregnant

The joy of pregnancy is a wonderful experience especially if you are expecting your first child. During the sixth month of pregnancy, you will come to know that your son or daughter has developed lungs which are now producing a substance called surfactant. This substance is very important for the lungs to function properly. The substance that is produced by the lungs during the sixth month of pregnancy helps to prevent the walls of the lungs from sticking to each other when your baby inhales.

During this sixth month of pregnancy, the development of the lungs just starts and this will not be completed until the time when your baby is to be born.

At the end of the 24th week your baby will be around 10 inches from crown to rump and weigh 2 pounds. So make the best use of the sixth month of pregnancy!
