Home Remedies For Allergy In Pregnancy

House dust, pollens in the garden, pollution, specific foods, nuts etc can cause allergies. When you are pregnant, you are already facing lots of changes both physical and mental. Apart from changes, body pain is common. But, allergies during pregnancy is just an addition to the existing condition. Allergies are no exception during pregnancy. It leads to nasal congestion, a very common allergy symptom during pregnancy due the increase in hormones and blood volume.

However, during pregnancy you should opt for home remedies to treat allergies. They are safe, natural and doesn't have any side effect. Medications with medicines can be harmful for the baby so, it is best to opt for home remedies. For example, drops of saline solution in the nose can help ease allergies during pregnancy.

There are few tips to remember if you are allergic during pregnancy. Remove carpets and rug mats as they are a home to dust mites. If you want to keep the carpet or rug mat, make sure they are clean, vacuumed and put under direct sunlight (for an hour) ever day. Change the bed sheet every week in hot water and clean the house every day. Use anti-bacterial herbal soap to avoid allergy during pregnancy. Keep the windows closed specially during seasonal changes. For example pollen can cause allergy so at this peak, you should close the windows and stay indoors. Even watch out on what you eat. Specific foods like eggplant and peanut butter can lead to allergy. Even milk in few women cause allergy. So, be careful and note on which food is causing you allergy.
