Fast Foods To Eat And Avoid During Pregnancy
When you are pregnant, you often have lots of food cravings. This is most commonly observed during the first trimester of the pregnancy. The urge to eat something makes a pregnant woman restless. However, food cravings can be towards a particular dish or towards any thing. For example, many pregnant women have the cravings to eat sweet, spicy or junk food.
A majority of women always have the craving towards junk food. However, when you are pregnant, you need to be careful about what you eat. Too much of spicy food can be harmful for the health. Moreover, junk or fast food especially chaats or burgers available on the streets are unhygienic and high on calories.
So, there are few foods that you must avoid during pregnancy. If you have food cravings for junk or fast food during pregnancy, here is a list of foods that you can eat and also some foods must avoid during pregnancy.
Fast foods to eat and avoid during pregnancy:
Avoid soda
Pregnant women should avoid drinking carbonated drinks like soda or cold drinks. It leads to gas and is also rich in calories.
Avoid processed meat
Processed meat has bacteria and is not fresh either. So, if you love hogging on hamburgers to satisfy food cravings for junk or fast food, avoid processed meat.
Eat yoghurt
The dairy products are rich in calcium. Pregnant women should eat yoghurt as it strengthens bones.
Eat whole grains
Whole grains are nutritious and rich in fibre. They are easy to digest and are low in calories too.
Avoid frozen foods
Frozen foods are not organic and has too much salt that can be unhealthy for the body.
Avoid packaged noodles
They are easy to cook fast food. But pregnant women should avoid it as it is high in salt, calories and difficult to digest too.
Eat string cheese
Low fat cheese is low in calories and rich in calcium. Moreover, it doesn't have bacteria that leads to infections or diseases.
Have juice
Carrot, beetroot and fruit juice can be really healthy and nutritious during pregnancy.
Eat carrots
Carrots are rich in vitamin C. It is good for the body and skin as well. So, if you want to maintain your glowing skin during pregnancy, have this food.
Eat fruits
Apple, banana, oranges, lime, pears and other such fruits are healthy. You can have these fruits whenever you feel like munching something. Avoid fruits like papaya and pineapple.
Eat salads
Salads are fresh, nutritious and healthy too. They are loaded with vitamins and nutrients. Moreover, this food is filling and low in calories.
