Taking Care Of Your Health After Delivery
Pregnancy is one of the most pleasant and beautiful phases in a woman’s life. Even though it is filled with many health problems and discomforts but, it is all compensated by the excitement of the future addition of a new member of the family.
The wait is finally over when the doctor hands you over your little bundle of joy that was until recently a part of your own body. You suddenly become a proud mother of a newly born baby girl/boy and the happiness makes you forget all the troubles you had gone through during pregnancy.
Health & Taste Post Delivery
However, what most people don't realise is that the troubles just don't end here. Besides the early adjustment issues that one faces with the newly-born baby, there are several other health problems which many ignore or avoid because of their highly hectic schedule.
Some of the most common problems can turn dangerous if not attended at the right time. But, the symptoms of such troubles are extremely rare and most people do not even realise that they are suffering from a healthy issue until it develops into a severe problem.
Also, most doctors and mothers avoid medication due to their adverse effects on the child. Most common health concerns after delivery are feeding difficulties, post-partum depression, sleep deprivation, sexual difficulties, infections and haemorrhoids (flu like symptoms), muscle pains and ache in dermatological troubles such as stretch marks and allergies.
What To Eat After A Caesarean: Diet Tips
It is not possible for most of the mothers to recognise the symptoms or even take the medical treatment without affecting the small child. Most medicines such as antibiotics can cause disturbed bowel in the baby through breast milk due to consumption of medicines.
Hence, the best possible solution is to use home remedies to cure some of these simple problems. However, it is highly advisable to consult a doctor before any self treatment and also check for certain food or other allergies to avoid reactions.
Taking care of your health after delivery can be done in the following ways….
MASSAGE
Massage is the best possible solution to get relieved from the muscles pains and aches and many other health concerns after delivery such as hydration of the skin and relaxing the stressed muscles, which leads to less itching and better sleep.
COLD OR HOT PACKS
Cold packs on the breast and stretch marks could relieve the excessive stiffness and itching, while hot packs on the stomach could help ease the pain caused by contractions in the uterus.
HIGH-FIBRE DIET
Constipation can be easily cured by a high-fibre diet as it helps in better function of the bladder.
HIGH ON NUTRITION
The body is extremely weak after the delivery and requires ample of supplements to replenish the lost nutrients. A diet rich in calcium, iron, magnesium and vitamins is essential for both mother and baby to avoid health concerns after delivery.
DRINK YOUR WAY TO HEALTH
Taking care of your health after delivery is incomplete without the intake of sufficient fluids such fresh fruit juices and water, as the milk required for feeding also drains the body of fluids.
ITCHING CURE
Health concerns after delivery are aggravated by extreme itching and discomfort especially on the areas with stretch marks, which can be cured by massaging the area with the oil.
