Colours are said to have direct influence on our behavioral patterns and it results in the flow of energy created within the body. White
Also known as a neutral colour, white is clearly a synonym for summer as it represents brightness and light. Though each culture has different opinion on the colour. White as a colour symbolises innocence. White can be used as it represents peace and purity. Using white for the house could be a difficult task as it could get dirty quickly, so usually white is limited to the ceiling of the house and decorative items.

Brown
Brown known as the earthy colour is not a top favorite among women. Yet this colour gives a sense of safety, elegance and stability. But while choosing brown one must make sure that it is not too dark as it represent stagnation and sadness, so it is recommended to keep the colour limited to furnitures.

Blue
This colour associated with serenity, the huge calm ocean and the vast clear blue sky is again a good example that classifies blue as a clam colour. Specially aqua blue, which comes with the combination of dark and light blue has a relaxing, peaceful, and calming effect. Blue is said to lower blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration. The cooling effect of blue helps people feel relaxed even in humid environments. Blue can be used for walls, bedsheets and pillows but make sure that light blue is used as opposed to darker shades of blue.

Green
Like blue, this colour is also said to be associated with calmness and has a cooling effect on the body as well as on the mind. Likewise this colour is also considered as nature's colour as it is found aplenty around us. New mothers who are depressed, anxious, suffer from nervous disorders and exhaustion, can benefit from green surroundings. This colour can be used in decorating the house by keeping plants in and around the house or trying to have a small garden or a lawn.

Yellow
This bright sunshine colour is the most recommended colours for alleviating themood. This colour not only gives an energising effect but also gives confidence to the person. But this colour should be used in a lighter shade for more positive energy. Yellow can be used from a mere doorstep mattress to the walls as it compliments natural lighting.

While these natural colours will bring a positive change among the new mother, it should be noted that one should go for lighter shades. Light shades are supposed to bring in more calmness and peace as opposed to dark colours which could also have an adverse effect.
