Can Light Cause Obesity In Kids?
A new study says that kids who spend too much of their time with TV, mobile phones and tablets may suffer obesity. We might think that this is due to the inactivity and lack of exercise but researchers found out another reason.

Today, we have too many artificial light sources than ever before. So, naturally kids are surrounded by televisions, mobile phones and tablets. This exposure is seen as one of the reasons for childhood obesity in today's times.
As a part of the study, researchers observed children below the age of 8 years. Factors like overall activity levels, duration of sleep and the exposure to artificial light were considered in the study. Also, researchers observed that kids who are exposed to more artificial light during the first half of the day are more prone to the risk of obesity.
Maybe the biological clock which works on the light exposure gets upset when kids expose themselves to too much of artificial light. Yes, it impacts the quality of sleep too. It can upset hormonal action and moods too. So, researchers concluded that children must limit their gadget usage for better health.
