Possible Causes Of Children Being Perpetually Tired

Dietary Causes: There is a thin line between lethargy and exhaustion, this line is often blurry. Lethargy is often the result of a bad diet and an inactive lifestyle. Exhaustion, on the other hand, is often the result of a lack of energy. Children who consume a diet high in fat might end up in feeling lethargic often.

Fast food meals are convenient, but they can slow down the digestion process, causing lethargy to set in. Fast food diets also lack nutrients that are needed for a child's mental and physical development.

If your child isn't getting a nutritious diet, then he/she might end up in feeling fatigued. Giving your child a balanced diet with the inclusion of milk and nuts can help. Ideally, children should consume a diet high in proteins, moderate in carbohydrates and low in fats.

Medications: If your child is taking psychotropic medicines, then this might cause him/her to feel excessively drowsy. Setting up a consultation with the doctor who has prescribed the medicines to review them once a month can help.

The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Characterised by overwhelming fatigue and weakness, this medical condition can hamper your child's ability to perform routine tasks. The causes for chronic fatigue syndrome in children haven't been identified as yet, but possible working theories include a low count of blood in the system, sleep disorders, endocrine disorder and environmental allergies.
