Ways To Teach Kids About Social Awareness
Teach kids about social awareness as it is one of the most essential skills that parents have to inculcate in their child to have a more secure and a brighter future.
Social awareness is the consciousness shared by all the individuals living within a society. The development of social awareness involves learning the dynamics of the society and social relationships within that society that exists between the individuals, groups and communities.
An individual who is aware socially is mature enough to understand and value his rights and responsibilities along with the importance of maintaining a harmonious social relationship that is essential for the growth and development of the society as a whole.
No individual can progress alone, he is often accompanied by a long list of unnamed people who helped him and grew with him. This is an essential part of the learning process which would benefit the child immensely in the future.
Obese Children More Prone To Heart Risks?
Also, it falls on the shoulder of the parents and teachers to develop these skills in the child which would lead to a better generation of young adults who would shoulder the responsibility leading to social transformation for the growth and betterment of the society.
Some of the methods that would help the adults in teaching kids about social awareness are:
Stage
1
–
I,
Me
And
Myself
The
most
essential
learning
of
social
awareness
starts
with
self.
Not
every
child
is
born
social!
Some
children
are
shy
and
thus,
the
responsibility
lies
on
the
parent
to
teach
kids
about
social
awareness.
The first lesson to this class is helping the child recognize himself, his weaknesses, his strengths, values and hobbies.
Let him learn one step at a time so that he becomes comfortable with his own true self and not the identity that has been ascribed to him by others.
Stage
2-
My
Parents
And
Other
Family
Members
The
next
most
important
role
in
teaching
kids
about
self
awareness
is
of
letting
the
child
familiarize
and
learn
from
the
behaviour
with
family.
The
initial
social
interaction
of
the
child
is
with
the
close
and
distant
family
members.
The most authentic way to teach kids about social awareness is by enacting it within the family. He has to know the importance of his value system and his ability to maintain a peaceful and fulfilling relationship with the fellow members of the family.
Stage
3-
Give
And
Take
Compliments
The
best
way
to
gain
social
acceptance
is
by
graciously
accepting
and
generously
giving
compliments.
Teach
kids
about
social
awareness
by
starting
with
the
importance
of
compliments.
They are the best way to make others feel good about themselves and in turn unconsciously building a bond with them.
Stage
4-
School
Is
The
First
Social
Interaction
School
is
the
first
social
platform
in
a
child’s
life.
It
is
at
this
medium
that
he
learns
the
importance
and
value
of
social
relationships
and
dependence.
Teachers
along
with
parents
play
a
major
role
to
teach
kids
about
social
awareness
in
which
he
would
project
his
true
self
to
a
society
of
other
kids
who
are
also
sailing
in
the
same
boat.
Stage
5-
Interacting
With
The
Society
Remember
some
of
these
points
when
you
teach
kids
about
social
awareness:
• Start with neighbours,
• Remembering names,
• Respecting social norms,
• Participating in social activities.
