Intimate Education And Parent's Role In It
According to research most parents find it essential that they teach their child intimate education.
The study on intimate education revealed that around 1,605 parents of primarily white, school-aged children in Minnesota found that kids should get this knowledge from their parents while another percent of parents felt that they should learn about the intimate education at school. Apart from this, most parents are confirmed that their kids already know about the intimate education with the help of their friends and the usage of the latest technology.
Debra Bernat from the Florida State University stated that kids parents are a primary source of sex information for them and that parents most influence their decisions about sex. She added that," School-based sex education programs are very important since this may be the only source of information for some young people."
The result shows that although there is much controversy in regard to this intimate education in school it is stated that majority of parents listed teachers as the second preferred source of information. Debra Bernat also said that,"The proportion of parents endorsing media might have been different had we separated out movies, television, books and the Internet, and specified who provided it to the young person."
