India To See A New Range Of Superbikes

The JV between the Korean two wheeler company S&T Motors and Garware of India has just launched its superbikes under 650-700 cc category at the price tag of Rs 4.75 – Rs 5.69 lakhs. The move comes after a stinted study of the market, said an official from the company. The models are – GT 650 R and ST 7 of which the earlier one is a superbike for Rs 4.75 lakhs with single tone color and Rs4.69 lakhs for dual tone coloring. ST 7 , a 700 cc bike costs the buyers Rs 5.69lakhs and has become significant potential in the sectors, said the MD of Garware Motors.

The company has slated the bookings for the superbike from April 20 this year and deliveries in June. The company will sell the bikes in Mumbai, Pune, NCR, Goa and Bangalore. There will be five more dealers each in Cochin, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Chandigarh in another two months. Garware will deliver all the range of superbikes from Hyosung Motors which will be assembled in the company"s assembly plant in Maharastra commissioned in an investment of Rs 20 crore. This Hyosung Motors plant has the installed capacity of maximum10 bikes a day.
