Problems Of Being The Middle Child
The oldest child is always cherished and the youngest kid is always pampered. This statement does not mean that parents have their love biased for their children, but this is just a mere psychological attitude parents have for their kids. Here, being a middle child can be a disadvantage.

Being a middle child, you would be caught up in between the younger and older siblings. You have to be like a kid with your older sibling, but simultaneously protect your younger sibling. Being a middle child has its shares of disadvantages. Let's take a look.
Low attention - When you are born, your older sibling gets half of your attention because he is elder to you. When you start getting some limelight, your mother is pregnant again. Thus, all life you do not get to be the star or popular kid in the family. You mostly end up in getting little amount of concern and attention from your parents, relatives and everybody else. Getting diverted attention is one of the disadvantages of being middle child.
Always have to sacrifice - The older sibling always end up getting the new stuff or toys. This is passed on to the middle kid after the older sibling is done using it. This things or toys soon get damaged and therefore, the younger kid gets a new one. Here, being a middle child, you must reuse thing which can be discouraging sometimes. This is a disadvantage of being a middle child.
Star achiever - You will be compared with both the older and younger siblings. Even if you achieve something like good grades or sport medals, you might not get the appreciation you expect. This is because your younger sibling would be encouraged for doing better than you. This does not mean your parents will not be happy in your success., but their reactions might sound a little weak.
Share the room - When you are small, you will have to share the room with your older sibling. When your older sibling gets a room of his own, you think you will get your space too, but the younger kid soon joins you. So, overall, you may not get the private space ever.
Be Bullied - The middle kid is supposedly bullied by both the younger and older siblings. Being a middle child disadvantages include being bossed by the older sibling. Apparently you cannot do the same with your younger sibling as he can complain it to your parents. Being a middle child, you have to live with the bully almost all your life. This can be prevented only if your parents are not obsessed with your other two siblings.
