When you work in an organisation, work pressure and project deadlines make you concentrate more on the job. However, there are few distractions at office that can hamper your work timings. These small distractions like popping up chat windows, talkative colleagues etc. affect your work and also change your mood. To give your best at work, you have to get over such distractions. Here are a few of the most common distractions at office that can be really irritating at times.

Spam e-mails: Getting spam e-mails can be one of the worst distractions at office. You are working seriously on something and suddenly you see a small window on the screen showing you a new e-mail. You open it and find out that it is a spam e-eail. One of the most annoying spam mails is the contest winner ones. You have not even participated in any contest but get a mail written, "Congratulations! You have won $4500." If you are unaware of the world of Internet 'fishing', you start finding out ways to collect the money.

Popping up chat windows: Being socially active at office is very important. However, most of the times, your friends or even close colleagues start breaking your concentration by sending informal texts that can distract you. Being logged in is important so you stay online. But, getting such pop ups can be one of the worst distractions at work place.

Social networking sites: We all are hooked on to the most famous social networking sites namely, Facebook and Twitter. These social networking sites can be a great time pass and fun to change your mood. However, when you are working, you should avoid such tempting distractions. Facebook or Twitter can be great time consuming sites so, avoid using them during working hours. If you want to chat or get updates from your friends, you can log in after your office hours.

Short breaks: Taking short breaks at work is quiet important but, sometimes this can get really distracting. Moreover, taking too many short breaks can harm the work productivity. Going for a tea/coffee every hour, that to for 30 minutes is time consuming. Even chatting with your colleagues for a long time even after smoking is a real distraction from work.

Talkative colleagues: Having too many friends at office can be irritating at times. You harm your work productivity and also lose concentration. A small break to chat with colleagues is good to relax your mind and avoid stress. However, talking at short intervals can be distracting for others too.

Messages: Getting text messages is really interesting. But, if you are seriously working on something or attending a meeting, your phone beep can be a real distraction.
