Less Known Conspiracy Theories In World

By Vinutha S

You will probably be aware of all the top conspiracy theories in the world. However, it is possible that you might not have looked at them as conspiracy theories. Modern history is filled with incidences that present us with extraordinary facts and people. From natural disasters, historical facts to violent acts, a conspiracy theory can be formed about absolutely anything. In general, anything that causes a stir among the general population and contradicts an established view is considered as a conspiracy theory. These theories have a psychic phenomenon and have invaded several social sectors.

They seem far-fetched or fanatical and may even cause a logical thinker to speculate on their findings. Yet, regardless of their attraction, conspiracy theories have faced no shortfall in the modern world as well. Here are some of the lesser known conspiracy theories.

The Popish Plot
Titus Oates, a renegade, made a plot to assassinate the king that later became popular as the popish plot. Two Babylons
This anti-catholic conspiracy theory was put forward by Alexander Hislop in the year 1853. It alleges the catholic church of continuing the pagan religion practiced in Babylon. This veiled paganism is believed to be the creation of a century old conspiracy. Nevertheless, the theory has very few believers because of Hislop's sloppy scholarship and failure to prove his case.

Mother Teresa
While mother Teresa has been seen as a sacred figure and virtually untouchable, conspiracy theories against her suggest that she was an undercover agent for the US. Her works in India provided a perfect platform for slipping messages to US. This way, she was successful in preventing India from becoming a major hotspot all through the cold war.

The Berwyn Mountain Episode
Also identified as "Welsh Roswell", the Berwyn mountain episode tells us of a UFO crash in the year 1974. Initially, it was thought as a plane crash by the locals. They reacted by calling the local police and mountain rescue teams. Their search for survivors did not yield any result and we may never know what truly happened on these mountains.

Gavdos: The Immortality Island
Apparently, few Russian scientists migrated to a small island in southern Europe and built ecological houses that were filled with inventions. That is all about the claim. However, several conspiracy theorists accuse Gavdos of being an immortality source and the reason for the scientists migration. They also suggest that Gavdos hides the city of Atlantis and is the main source for natural resources and life on earth.
