12 Children's Books Made Into Movies

There has always been a special connection between literature and cinema; both art forms borrow from each other. Many books are made into movies every year. It is a never-ending process. Not all books that are made into movies impress us. Some of the movies adapted from books are big flops even if the book was a classic or a bestseller.

When it comes to children's books, the process of adaptation becomes a notch more complex. You can adapt children books in to cartoons like Shrek. You can also convert these fantasy novels into semi-animated series like the Chronicles Of Narnia. There is also an option to makes these books into movies for kids and adults.

The last option is increasingly becoming a hot trend in Hollywood. Fairytale and fantasy novels like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or Alice In Wonderland are being converted into movies that are meant for adults as well as kids. Even the Harry Potter movies are popular among adults as well.

We possibly cannot list all the children's books that were made into movies. But here are the ones that are most popular.

Harry Potter Series

The books broke all sale records and the movies did the same at the box office! Harry Potter movies were a hit through and through!

Alice In Wonderland

The version of Alice in Wonderland made by Tim Burton surprised many people. It was not at all like the fairytale that we had imagined.

Snow White And The Huntsmen

Did you ever imagine that the pretty and delicate Snow White could also turn into one of the dashing Huntsmen? This adult version of the fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is very imaginative.

This books was actually an allegory but we have read it in the abridged version as fairytale. The movie too was a huge hit.

Chronicles Of Narnia

This fantasy series may not have become popular like Harry Potter or Lord Of The Rings, but it did good business.

Most of you may not even know that the Hollywood movie Big Fish was inspired from the children's book 'Big Fish: A Novel Of Mythic Proportions.
