Loneliness, An Outcome Of Modern Lifestyle

By Devaki

Loneliness
In the fast-paced modern life, people generally tend to ignore the value of commitment to others. This ultimately becomes a recipe for our loneliness, says Dr Peter Jensen, the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney.

Archbishop was preaching at the Easter service at St Andrew's Cathedral. He also opined that people lack the presence of person who is as significant as the self, in their lives.

''It is what I would expect and what we all may expect to occur and what we have embraced as a society. Our secularist philosophy emphasizes the individual and individual entitlements and invites us to invent our own lives and it considerably undervalues the importance of commitment to other human beings," says Dr Jensen.

''Far fewer people have a deep friend. This modern cultural mood is a recipe for loneliness and a path to a lonely old age," he adds.
