WIFW 2014: Anupama Dayal Presents Kama
WIFW 2014 is one of the most awaited events on the fashion calendar. And today, Wills Indian Fashion Week 2014 kicked off with loads of splendor. The show opened with Tarun Tahliani's collection. The second big collection of the day 1 of WIFW was Anupama Dayal's. The collection was called ‘Kama' and was inspired by the Kamasutra. Anupama Dayal ‘s WIFW 2014 collection was a menagerie of sexy Indian colours.
The collection had a number of Indian outfits in bright Indian colours. You could say that the collection was bridal. The models were dressed as brides and some of them even had their palms adorned with mehendi. However, Anupama Dayal's brides were far from the demure Indian brides we are used to seeing. One of the most striking features of the collection was the ‘sex appeal' that was part of the mood of this collection.
Anupama Dayal's WIFW 2014 collection had low cut blouses and deeply cut blouses. The dupattas were draped over the shoulders of the models seductively. Anupama Dayal's collection this labeled ‘Kama' and it is inspired by the raw sexuality coming from the Indian epic ‘Kamasutra'. Anupama Dayal proves that even brides can exude burning sexuality. What we loved most about this collection was the plethora of colours that we saw. Bright yellow, reds, oranges and pink set the mood on the ramp and seduced the cameras.
Most of the outfits in this collection displayed on day 1 of Wills Indian Fashion Week are lehenga cholis. But we also saw a couple of harem pants and a saree. Mostly we loved what we saw. There were no celebrity showstoppers for this collection. And yet, it was alluring to the fullest. Here is a close look at the best designs in Anupama Dayal's Kama collection at WIFW 2014.
Lavender Lehenga
This lovely demure colour lavender was teamed up with a maroon coloured tube choli. The choli was made of brocade silk while the lehenga seemed to be chiffon.
Blue n Purple Bridal Lehenga
This outfit was an ensemble of 3 bright colours namely electric blue, orange and purple. The lehenga was bright electric blue in colour. The low-cut choli was a fiery orange and the drape over the head was purple.
Red n Green Backless Choli
This outfit was a combination of a traditional red lehenga and a stunning backless choli that was worn with a dark green drape. Dare any bride to wear this outfit on her wedding day.
Orange Blouse With Pearl Details
This blouse was the highlight of this season's collection. The orange blouse showed ample cleavage and had lines of studded tiny pearls on it.
Coin Choli
This maroon choli had a coin design. The neckline had coins studded on it. This maroon choli was worn with light enamel pink lehenga.
Pink Saree
This pink saree stood out as it seemed a little bit like a Southern design. Most of the other designs in this collection use chiffon instead of silk.
Tribal Bride
This bridal outfit is inspired by the tribal look. The model is wearing silver jewellery and the outfit seems to be in cotton, bandini design.
Orange Coin Saree
This bright orange saree had a coin pattern and is worn like a lehenga. The saree is directly draped over the head instead of taking a pallu over the blouse.
The Bright n Bold Brides
As you can see, the ramp was aflame with bright colours at the end of the show. We can see reds, pinks, maroons but most predominantly orange among the designs.
