Day 2 Of LFW 2014 At A Glance

On Day 1 of LFW 2014, we saw only 2 collections. But Day 2 at LFW 2014 showcased 19 different collections. Needless to say that it was a very busy day. The day started off with INIFD's GEN NEXT collection that included 5 different young designers. We particularly liked the work of Neha Aggarwal and Kristy de Chunha.

Then came in the ethnic designers namely Archana Rao, Karishma Shahani and Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary. Surendri designs were floral with a vengeance. Archana Rao opened up tea designs. The Outhouse jewellery collection at LFW 2014 reminded us of Greek splendour. There a number of new Pakistani designers who presented their designs on Day 2 of LFW 2014.

In the evening, the global brand River Island presented its Reto-chic collection. Kriti Sanon walked the ramp for River Island in a metallic skirt and top. The last show for the day was by ace designer Anju Modi. It was really surprising that the Manikarnika collection presented by Anju Modi at LFW 2014 was the exact same as her collection at ICW 2014.

It is not possible for any fashion lover to observe all 19 collections with the same intent. That is why; you need our help. Boldsky has put together a list of all the collections displayed on Day 2 of LFW 2014.

This collection is inspired by feline creatures like cats and tigers. The face masks and fluid nature of the garments bear testimony to the theme.

Neha Aggarwal's collection is inspired by Ethopian tradition. This collection uses motifs and patterns from the African tradition.

This collection is inspired by the Venus fly trap flower. The outfits have 'trap' like structures on them.

The theme of her collection -- 'Tea.ism' -- was inspired from designs you would see at tea parties. The dresses were clear cut and so was the pencil skirt. On the ramp, the designer also added a few waistcoat collections. More than these styles, the sarees with belts were a major attraction.

Karishma Shahani: Wintery Designs

Karishma Shahani: Wintery Designs

The designs in this collection are very apt for the winter that is just coming up. We like the patch work theme in the designs.

Surendri By Yogesh Chaudhary

If we have to describe Surendri's Winter Festive collection in one word, it will be 'floral'. There was a distinct floral motif in this collection. There were many outfits with sunflower appliques on it. The most interesting part about this collection was the accessories. Yogesh Chaudhary's LFW 2014 collection made use of heavy silver jhumkas with gemstones studded in it.

Outhouse: The Column

Outhouse: The Column

Truly inspired from the Greek architecture, this collection was admirable. The models who walked the ramp in style patterned a live column on stage which resembled the actual Greek columns. The heavy long necklaces on the beauties were ravishing.

Akaaro

Akaaro

The details were particularly classy with most designs based on sheer organza fabrics. While we take a look at what made AKAARO at Lakme Fashion Week 2014, let us be reminded that the tireless efforts that went at making the collection a success were starkly evident. However, going by the standards of Lakme Fashion Week, Gaurav J Gupta's AKAARO collection was a little too ordinary.

Rizwan Beyg

There were a number of Pakistani designers who presented at LFW 2014 on day 2. The splash of colours, sharara pants and frills from Rizwan Beyg made the day brighter.

River Island: Retro Chic

The stand-out features of this collection were cut-out sleeves, pencil skirts, mini dresses, one shoulder jumpsuits and the use of blingy fabric. Lakme Fashion Week 2014 is a massive fashion fiesta. Gloss and bling are the primary themes of this collection. And the element of gloss has been maintained in almost all the designs.

Social Butterfly: Urvashi Joneja

The high end social circle butterflies can sport these black and white outfits with sharp cuts and scooped out details.
