Driving is one of the best ways to enjoy nature, the greenery, the beauty of a place, but that, can happen only if the roads are good . Today we will tell you some of the best driving destinations in Karnataka (particularly from Bangalore). Take a look.

Bangalore to Chennai – Enjoy a smooth drive to Chennai from Bangalore via Krishnagiri route. Chennai is about 350 KM from Bangalore via NH 7. Although there is another route to Chennai (via Chittoor, NH 4) this is the best route. Cafes and good restaurants are available in Krishnagiri and vellore for food and toilet facilities. In Chennai, you can enjoy the view of the serene seas by zooming on the roads. A trip to Mahabalipuram, fort St.George, Marina Beach will complete your trip “on the drive".

Bangalore to Ooty – Nothing like driving to Ooty, Tamil Nadu's popular hillstation that is just 300 kms from Bangalore. To reach Ooty, the best route is the bandipur, mudumalai route as it is a forest reserve. The thick forest, the deers, the elephants can be viewed on the way and after which follows the ghat section. The steep roads and the thrilling curves are simply enjoyable for the ones who long for adventure. In Ooty, you can drive to the major sightseeing places like botanical gardens, dodda betta and not to forget the tea estates.

Bangalore to Mysore – This is an easy and a busy driving destination as Mysore is only 140 kms away from Bangalore, you can enjoy the authentic Karnataka food on the way to mysore as there are many popular restaurants on the way like Kamat Yatrinivas, Maddur Tiffany, Kadambam to list a few. There are good cafes like rasta and cafe coffee day to take a hot coffee break after an hour long drive. The world famous Mysore palace, lalita mahal palace, krishnaraja Sagar dam and Chamundi hills (a small ghat section drive) are the major attractions in Mysore.

Bangalore to Chitradurga – Chitradurga is 200 kms away from Bangalore and is located at the junction of NH-4 (Bangalore-Pune national highway). An excellent driving destination for those who would like to have a sight of the hills and wind mills. Chitradurga has many tourist spots like the fort (kallina kote), Vedavati river, Doddahottrangappa Hill.
