Natalie Portman's Strong Link With Israel

If Lady Gaga is launching charity for Japan relief victims and Angelina Jolie is campaigning to help Libyan refugees, Actress Natalie Portman has come up with a special move for her birth place Israel. The Oscar-wining "Black Swan" has launched a campaign to raise funds for a medical tower at Jerusalem's Hadassah hospital. Natalie Portman is urging help from fans by appearing in two video promotions. In her video promotions she said,

'It's about healing. It's about compassion. It's about life. It's about you. We're not waiting for the future. We're building it."

The link with the Israel hospital dates back to history when Natalie Portman was born in the same hospital. The actress, whose original name was Natalie Hershlag, was born in Hadassah hospital on June 9th, 1981. Although her parents moved to US when she was a child, Natalie Portman reportedly speaks good Hebrew. The new tower is said to be inaugurated in 2012. Meanwhile, Avi Rifkind, the professor and the head of the hospital's trauma unit said,

'Natalie is a nice, modest girl, she has a strong link to Israel,' quoted Yediot Ahronot daily as the professor saying.

This is not the first time that Natalie Portman has campaigned, earlier, she had also promoted for an organization supporting education for girls.
