Matt Damon has confesses that the paparazzi do not follow him because he is too “boring".

Paparazzi shares an unspoken deal with Matt, "I feel I have an unspoken deal with paparazzi. I won't do anything interesting if they agree not to follow me," tells Matt Damon

He thinks that he leads a very simple lifestyle and thus anyone following his day to day work with be dead bored.

But this does not matter to Matt. He is happy to know that media finds him boring because it means photographers won't follow him.
