Chinese Families Celebrate Pongal
The Pongal festival made headlines in Malaysia, with 100 Chinese families participating in the celebrations. The historic temple Sri Maha Karumariamman Muneeswarar in Falim on Wednesday night had an active crowd of 100 Indian families and six Australian tourists.

The New Strait Times reported that, the traditional Tamil thanksgiving festival has been celebrated in the temple from the past 30 years. However, it was only this year that it also welcomes people from different religion and race to join the ceremony.

According to the temple priest Kaka Singh, this new move will allow the widespread knowledge about the festival. AGENCIES
