World Record For Beauty Makeovers 1129 Makeovers In 12 Hours
It could be seen as a first of its kind attempt to set record in beauty makeovers.

Arcelia by Shoppers Stop have staked their claim to an entry into the Limca Book of Records with an unprecedented 1129 beauty makeovers done within 12 hours here recently.

In the makeover marathon held here earlier this week, 35 renowned make-up artists, including the famous Vidya Tikari who has transformed the faces of Bollywood actresses like Madhuri Dixit and Priyanka Chopra, carried out 1129 makeovers within 12 hours, superseding their actual target of 500 makeovers.

Talking to UNI here, the CEO of Shoppers Stop Limited Govind Shrikhande said, 'An event of this scale has never happened in the history of beauty business. There were times when people had to form a queue. I'm sure Limca will be very happy with this record.' Interestingly, when approached before the marathon, Limca Book of Records did not have a beauty makeover category.

'We have attempted to create a new world record. Once they certify it, it will become an actual record,' Mr Shrikhande said.

In appreciation of the event, Limca Book of Records Editor Vijaya Ghose said, 'I congratulate Arcelia on successfully attempting to create a record of maximum number of makeovers done in a span of 12 hours. The effort of executing an event of this stature is commendable.' The Marathon, in which world renowned luxury beauty brands like Chanel, YSL, Dior and Lancome participated, saw Ms Tikari give a 'smoky' makeover to Amanpreet Wahi. The glitterati of the capital city like Geetika Ganju and Ramneek Paintal too joined in to celebrate the success of the event.

Meaning treasure in Spanish, Arcelia is a one-stop-shop for the world's uber luxe brands in cosmetics, fragrances and watches from Chanel, Clarins, Shiseido, Bvlgari, D&G, Hugo Boss, Fendi, Armani and Tissot.
