From Kids With Concern Peace Wall
Attention Adults: There is a message from kids assembled from various countries voicing concern over 'the state of the world today.' Children from India, Russia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Kyrghyztan and Vietnam attending a weeklong camp have inscribed messages of love and amity on a Wall of Peace to be preserved in a museum.

'The children feel concerned about the state of the world today which is being torn apart by separatist forces in the name of religion and nation,' a government statement said.

'They wanted to spread the message to whole world,' the Human Resource Development Ministry stastement said on the penultimate day of the November 14-20 Children's Assembly and Integration Camp.

They wrote messages, thoughts, comments on a 'Peace Wall' erected for the occasion by the National Bal Bhavan which sponsors the camp as an annual event.

They wrote about love, bondage, joy, peace, harmony, patriotism and brotherhood and amity, the statement said.

The camp this year has centred on Promoting Gandhian Values of Bonding for Truth, Peace and Non-violence-- to reverse the erosion of values and encourage kids to create a world not torn by differences of border, region and religion.

Children also took part in a conference on that theme.

The camp opened by HRD Minister Arjun Singh is intended to promote national and international integration, amity, brotherhood and goodwill amongst children, the Ministry said.

Bal Bhavan was founded by Nehru in 1956 as an out of school creativity resource centre for 5-to-16-year-olds.

Kids being kids, the event was not all grim. Sponsors threw in puppet and magic shows and fun games as well as workshops on dance, drama, music, mime, science, toy making and creative writing.
