Aussie Man Wears Sign Board For Job Offers

By Staff

In a desperation for a job an Australian man went up to the extreme method of wearing a sign board saying 'Need Job'!

Brett Harris had been looking far a job from quite sometime and did not fancy the idea of job agencies. Harris stood at the intersection of the Stuart highway and Roystonea Ave, on the edge of Palmerston wearing the sign board.

"Going to these job centres is a waste of time ... I've never got a job from a job service. My way of thinking, if you're broke and you need some money, you get off your arse and work," Brett said.

And rightly so, as Brett got three job offers in the first 45 minutes. "Got three offers in 45 minutes - that"s a job every 15 minutes," News.com.au quoted Brett, as saying. Inspite of feeling slightly uncomfortable at first, Harris soon gained confidence after a few passing by motorists bucked him up. "I thought, "this is a bit of a bloody stupid idea, Brett". But then I saw drivers were giving me the thumbs up as they drove passed," Brett revealed.

The three job offers made to the ex-Queenslander were that of working as a yardie, digging trenches and mowing lawns. The fourth offer made its way a little later. Brett jumped at the offer of job digging trenches and agreed to meet the man at he same intersect at 8:30 am. However Bret was not able to make up to the appointment as he hurt his back helping a friend move concrete.
