Motorcycle Club Riders With A New Motto

By Super Admin

These philanthropic and adventurous motorcycle riders not only love the long rides but also have a motto to spread love, peace and freedom by extending helping hands to the deprived and the underprivileged ones in the state.

The 'Aizawl Thunder Club'(ATC), launched in 1999 with the sole objective of ''riding for fun'' has developed a philanthropic edge off late.

Its members help the poor and needy, especially through orphanages and take up other charitable works from time to time.'' Being the second of it's kind in India after Bangalore's 'Rolling Thunders Bullet Club', the ATC conducts rallies on all important national festivals and other special occasions from this capital town and cover various districts with a message of ''Peace and Freedom.'' The riders also ensure to take special care for underprivileged people from orphanages and other rehabilitation centres during the rally.

Recently, the riders while on a night out ride to Tamdil lake at Saitual, 130 kms from Aizawl, stretched out their helping hands to Samaritan Orphanage.

Bound together by love of the Royal Enfield Bike all the 100 members of the club assemble every Saturday to go for long rides irrespective of their age, sex and career.

''Riding bullet shows that you're a real man and a real man must always be ready to help those who are in need. We may not be the Indie Thumpers of Mumbai or Delhi's Royal Beast but are certainly the Thunders of east India'', Clubs chief Lalrinchhana told UNI.

''We contribute a small part of our salaries, decide the destination and go for rides'', he said.

Lalengmawia, another member and a musician by profession said they have helped the deprived by donating a good amount of money raised by making a few rocking chart busters in Mizoram and are still keen on doing some more.

James, the founder of the club, who still rides a machismo with ease at 60, said '' A Bullet is always a Bullet and will always remain so, the push rod will not cease to exist as the Enfield and Harley with Ural of Russia still uses it''.

The ATC very strongly promotes safety while riding as compulsory helmets, proper riding attire along with sensible, civil and disciplined riding.

The club based exclusively around the Royal Enfield bikes, a brand famous worldwide for its heritage value, has so far done charitable works for several orphanages across the state.

The club has also adopted the recent bikes released by the company, such as the Thunderbird, Electra and the Machismo.

The club with a genuine thought and thrilling adventure gives a message to live life to the fullest.
