Natural Mosquito Repellents For The Home
Mosquitoes are a real nuisance, and a pretty dangerous one too as some would rightly say. The monsoon season brings with it large amount of water, and dirt and allows mosquitoes to breed, and that is dangerous for anyone. What could be natural mosquito repellents for the home? Can you possibly use simply everyday home products and send the mosquitoes away?
According to research some repellents are actually bad for the human body, so your trusted repellent is actually causing you more harm that you can imagine. During such a situation it is best to adopt some healthy ways to keep mosquitoes at bay, and these modes can be found in your home itself.
Natural insect repellents can be safe for you in every way, it could keep the mosquitoes away and it will not harm your body at the same time. In fact the truth is that the chemical bug repellents can cause you nausea, shortness of breath, headaches and many other severe symptoms requiring hospitalization.

mosquito

bug
repellents
you
can
use
in
your
home
or
in
your
yard
in
place
of
traditional
bug
sprays
and
chemicals.
Lavender
Use lavender based essential oils and you could strike magic! These smell great and are commonly known to combat mosquito infiltration, thereby keeping you safe and sound. You could dilute it in carrier oil such as apricot kernel, sweet almond or coconut oil for best results. You could also use organic soy oil on the other hand as this has the potential to keep mosquitoes at bay too.
Neem Oil
One very good natural mosquito repellent for battling mosquitoes is neem oil, try it and see the result for yourself! According to studies neem oil could be more effective than chemically induced repellents and this means that you can keep your health risks at bay by using a natural product. Neem is a plant that grows in India and it has healing properties.
Black Pepper
Mosquitoes cannot bear black pepper and you should use it to your advantage. Studies have shown that an extract of black pepper essential oil can be very effective mosquito repellent. The study had however used an alcohol extract, but it is believed that black pepper extract would work fine.
Old Coffee Grounds
You would be surprised to know that used coffee grounds can help keep mosquitoes at bay! The best part is that not only is this an eco-friendly alternative, but it's a great way to reuse coffee grounds! You can sprinkle the grounds around your deck or patio, or put them in bowls and place them near where you'll be sitting. Talk about natural insect repellent and you have this classic old remedy which is easy to find and is very effective.
Citronella Candles
You can get these at any home decor store, and make good use of them. In addition, you could also use candles made from herbs that repel mosquitoes can also keep bugs away from your deck or yard. Look for candles that include essential mosquito-repelling oils like cedar wood, lavender, lemongrass, and rosemary
Finally always remember to get rid of water as mosquitoes just love water. Keep your bathroom and your surroundings dry and clean, and always cover open water.
