Creative Ways To Reuse Old Magazines

As you are planning your creative craft ideas, you could even look through heaps of magazines to get similar colours. Try different shades of pink, different shades of blue and so on, to create a gradient effect that will be especially beautiful for the coaster and sunray clock crafts mentioned below.

Other than creative craft ideas, you can cut out fashion, décor, beauty and other pictures to create an inspiration scrapbook, with collages and fun captions printed in marker. This is a fun project and a wonderful way how to reuse old magazines, that you can look back at later with nostalgia!

Here are some more creative craft ideas that will show you how to reuse old magazines:

Coaster: Cut pages in half and fold into narrow strips. You will need 7-8 strip per coaster. Coil the first strip tightly to form a circle without any gaps. Glue the end and hold it down firmly. Start coiling the second strip around it, starting from where the first one ended, to make a larger circle. Keep glueing and coiling till you have a large tight circle.

Notepad: Cut handmade paper or different coloured sheets to the size you want. You’ll need a stack of 10 to 12 pages. Cut a magazine sheet in the same size. Position it over the pages, and apply glue on top. Once it is dry, cover the joint with masking tape. Make a larger one for your table and a smaller one for your handbag.

Envelopes: Check tutorials online on how to reuse old magazines by making envelopes. Choose a brightly coloured page. Fold in the center. Fold one edge, about one inch. Bring both edges to the center, with the folded part overlapping the other side. Glue the overlapping part. Now fold the top and the bottom, and cut out the corners. Glue the bottom flap over, and leave the top as the opening.

Gift bows: This is one of those truly creative craft ideas. Cut strips of magazine pages. Take one strip and loop one end. Holding it in place, loop the other end. Now you have two loops, rather like two opposite petals. Glue in place. Create more double loops, and position them on top of each other to form a circle. Secure the middle with a drawing pin.

Sunray clock: For this tutorial on how to reuse old magazines, you’ll need an old wall clock and several magazine pages. Fold each magazine page so that one end is narrower than the other, rather like a triangle. Position them to form a circle around the clock. The narrow end should be inside and the broader end outside, in a sunray pattern. Glue and attach to the back of your clock – another of your creative craft ideas is done!
