Wooden floors, especially the ones made with teak-wood, pine-wood and red teak-wood need to be dealt with extra care and caution. Taking care of your wooden floor is as important as you take care of your overall house and once the damage is occurred to the wooden floor it can be irrevocable.

While mopping these kind of wooden floor, it is important to keep in mind that there are few simple tips that should be kept in mind in order to maintain the floor in a very neat and proper state. 1. During the initial stages, do not mop your wooden floor daily as it might lose its shine and colour. Mopping should be done according to the instruction given by the carpenter. If in case you spill coffee or tea, mop the area with clean damp cloth, but make sure it is not dripping.

2. Before you mop your floor be sure to vacuum or sweep it first. Remove all the unwanted particles and soil when it is dry before it turns into sticky mud. This indeed helps you in great way, else it would create pores in the floor in the later stages.

3. Use a right cloth and correct cleanser. Do not use cheap cleansing liquid. Also make sure you use right amount of the liquid as too much of liquid used for mopping wooden floor might leave your floor with stains.

4. Mop the floor twice. This does not mean you need to mop your floor twice a day. When you mop your floor with a damp cloth make sure you mop it again with a clean dry cloth so that the water gets absorbed quickly.

5. Once you are done with mopping make sure that no one walks by as it may leave with footprints. And at the same time use the right kind of mopping tools such as a cotton cloth which not only cleanses your floor but also leaves it neat and tidy.
