Soap
Soap is the best home remedy to clean ornaments. Soap is best used only on gold ornaments to get rid of the dull look. Use liquid soap instead of the cake as it is mild in nature.
Vinegar
You can now use apple cider vinegar to clean ornaments, either silver or platinum. When you wipe your silver or platinum ornament with a cloth dipped in vinegar, you will begin to see it sparkle.
Foil
Cover your silver jewellery in aluminum foil with a spoon of bleach. Let it soak in the bleach for an hour. After an hour, open the foil and wash the ornaments with warm water. Using this home remedy to clean jewellery, you will see how it sparkles.
Ammonia
You can now brighten up your gold and silver ornaments by allowing them to soak in ammonia solution for 10 minutes. After the allotted time, rinse the ornaments under tap water and wipe with a soft cotton cloth.
Toothpaste
Toothpaste is used only on silver to clean the ornaments. A small dash of toothpaste is rubbed gently onto your silver ornaments for 10 minutes. Let it soak in the toothpaste before you rinse off using warm water.
Ketchup
Were you aware that ketchup is used to clean precious stone jewellery? To clean precious stone jewellery, dab a little ketchup onto the ornament. Gently rub the stones in a circular motion using the ketchup. Rinse later using clear water.
Dish Washing Liquid
The dish washing liquid is the best to wash any ornaments, whether gold, precious stones, silver or platinum. While you are doing the dishes, pour a little liquid onto your jewellery and wash it gently. However, this should be done only once in a while.
Baking Soda
To remove the tarnish from your silver ornaments, baking soda is the best for you to opt for. Sprinkle a spoon of baking soda and water solution over the silver jewellery, let it soak for half an hour in the solution and rinse under clear water.
Beer
To get back your shine of your gold jewellery, all you have to do is pour a little beer over your gold ornaments and let it soak for half an hour. After half an hour, remove the ornaments and wipe it with a soft cotton cloth.
Salt
The best home remedy to clean your ornaments with is salt. It is a powerful ingredient to get rid of scum hidden in your ornaments. You can either soak the ornaments in salt solution or rub the ornaments gently using the salt solution; both ways it works wonders.
